Mama's Boy

This is Andrew's first year going to school.. well VPK  (Pre-K).  At the beginning of the year he was so excited and for the first 2 weeks we would walk in his class and he would yell, "Bye Mommy" and run off to play.  Well, all has changed since then!!

Every freaking day he cries and throws an awful fit.  These fits don't just happen in the classroom while I begging him to be a nice boy.  No they start the night before, and as he's getting dressed, brushing his teeth and while I'm pulling him out of the car.

It's gotten so bad that his teacher will have to intervene everyday and ask Andrew to go to he's calm down spot.  I'm so freaking over this crap and I've tried everything I can think of.

Bribing.. nope he doesn't give a shit about anything I promise him.

Talking about his day, even though I pick him up and he's laughing and playing he insists he had a horrible day!  I know that little sucker is lying.

We've even talked about that he has to go to school and learn so he can get a good job and take care of Mommy.  He totally agrees, until he's walking into school!

Today, I told him that Santa Clause was watching him and if he cries about going to school he's going to take away a present every time he whines about it.  I even told him and his teacher collaborated with me that the camera in his classroom is so Santa can watch all the kids.

I've asked him why he doesn't like school and all he says is that he misses me while he's gone.  He's only at school for 3 hours!!

I've explained to him that Mommy doesn't do anything fun while he's at school.  I clean and watch T.V or read.

Then I started thinking, maybe I baby him too much.  I don't actually treat him like a baby, but he loves to cuddle and love on me so of course I eat that shit right up.  My daughter doesn't like anything to do with lovin' on mama!  So, what do I do?  Do I stop lovin' on him so much?

I don't do everything for him, he gets himself ready for school everyday and we talk about him being a "big man" all the time.  I know he's a mama's boy which I freaking love!

But, I really need him to be excited to go to school and to stop the whining and crying about it all the time!!
I'm so over it!  And, I'm at a loss.

Okay, who can help me with this?  I will listen to all advice!

Thank you in advance.

Why I'm not scared to die

In my short 39 years I've lost a few people that I love dearly.  My Mom died 2 years ago yesterday (Oct. 17th)  After she died I felt like an orphan.  My Dad died in 1998 and that hit me hard but I had to pull it together for my Mom, she wasn't prepared to deal with funeral stuff.  I think being busy helped.  When my mom died, even though it may not have shown on my face, I was devastated.  It reminded me that our time here on Earth is limited and we all die!!  The thought of dying never bothered me until I had children.

What's the point to my depressing babble about death?

I watch The Long Island Medium every week and at first I was skeptical of her gift, but time after time she proves that she is the real deal.   When I found out that she wrote a book, I paid that $11.00 and read it in less than 48 hours.  I read it mostly because supernatural and what happens after we die has always interested me .  I had many questions that she was able to answer for me in her book.

The first one was, when someone commits suicide do they go to hell?
I grew up Catholic and I was taught that the soul does indeed go to hell.  I never really thought about it until my best friend took her own life.  There is no way in HELL that her beautiful soul could be in such a horrible place.

Another question I had was, do our souls reincarnate?  I always believed in my heart that we do.  Why?
Well, why would we only get one chance on earth?  Heaven would totally be so over crowded!!  Not a fan of crowds.

Ever since my friend Debby died, I would have vivid dreams about her.  Was my subconscious just thinking about her, or was she really visiting me?  Maybe, about a month after my mom died, I had the most amazing dream.  I'm not the kind of person who remembers their dreams for very long.  But this "dream" is still so vivid in my mind.  When my mom passed away she was confined to a wheelchair and also was burdened with a colostomy bag.   My "dream" started with me walking into a white room, and I looked to the left and my Dad was sitting at a table with the newspaper in front of him.  He looked up and smiled at me.  I looked slightly to the right and my mom was sitting in a rocking/recliner type chair.  Her hair was short and curly like it used to be when I was younger.  She looked at me with her brilliant blue eyes and she did 2 things.  She lifted up her shirt slightly to show me that she was bag free and then she moved her legs to show me that she didn't need a wheelchair anymore.  And, that was it.  I believe I needed to see her to make sure she was okay on the other side.  I believe she brought my father along or visa versa to let me know they are together.  What's funny is, I haven't ever had a dream about my dad before.  That was the first time I saw him since he died.  After reading this book, I truly believe they were NOT dreams, but my loved one were coming to me when I needed them in way or another.

When ever I've dreamt about my mom or Debby neither one has ever talked to me. I can like hear their thoughts.  I don't hear their voices.  I always wondered what that meant.  In the book she talked about how spirits communicate without speaking.  It gave me some serious goose bumps.

After reading this book, it made me feel so much better about the whole dying thing.  Don't get me wrong, I don't want to die when my children are young, but I think it made me feel less nervous about the unknown.

She also talked about, when our souls are with God we choose our next life.  What we will look like, what we are supposed to learn from that life even down to when and how we will die.  Amazing!

I'm thinking that I chose my body because I must have been a world famous model in my last life and I hated all the attention I used to get.   That's got to be it!!  :)

Those are just a few little things she talks about, I suggest that you read it.  Open your mind and just see where it takes you!

Girl Talk

First I would like to apologize for not posting anything lately.  All is well here, I just haven't felt motivated or inspired by anything to share with you all.  Or, it could be that I've been lazy as hell and haven't turned on my computer in nearly a month.  Oh well.  I have something I would like to share today and hopefully get some great advice to help me out.

My daughter will be 10 years old in January, double digits!!  (sniff-sniff)
Anyway, the other day I walked into her room to make sure she was awake and getting ready for school.
I never knock when I go into my kids rooms, so I just barged right in to find my daughter half naked screaming at me to get out!!!  She pulled her shirt that she was wearing over her bottom area while she screamed at me.

I quickly backed out of her room and closed the door.  What the hell just happened?!?  She has never screamed at me to get out of her room.

So, I do believe it may be time to have a little girl talk with my no so little girl.

I don't want to go into the whole sex talk business.  I still think she may be too young for that.

I think I need to talk to her about what happens when a little girl grows up into a big girl and what changes will happen to her body.

I DO NOT want to make the same mistake as my mother did with me...
Let me take you back to age 14 (before I had sex) but after I started my period.

It was summertime and we were invited to go to a lake with my parents friends to have a cookout and swimming.  When we arrived I discovered that I had started my period and I was very upset because I wanted to go swimming and I knew you couldn't swim with a pad on.

I walked head down to my mom and let her know that I started my period and I can't go swimming.

She went to the store and bought a box of tampons.  Tampax tampons, you know the really old kind that only came with a cardboard applicator.  My mom handed me the box and told me to go to the bathroom.

I looked at her like what the hell am I supposed to do with these.  She said, "There are directions in the box"  And she walked away.

I took the box and went into the nearest stall and unwrapped the package and studied the directions carefully.   With very, very shaky hands I wasted the first 3 tampons because I thought I had popped my own cherry.  I finally talked myself into trying it again, sweaty, shaky hands, cramped neck from looking down for so long I did it, and prayed to God I was still a virgin.

So here's my dilemma...

I want to be able to talk to my daughter about anything!  I want her to feel comfortable enough for her to come to be for anything as well.  My daughter knows me as the smart ass, funny Mom who finds funny  in just about anything.  And, she's a shy and quiet person who doesn't like to share her feelings.

I tried to talk to her about getting a training bra soon and she turned red and ran out of the underwear aisle from me.

Does anyone have any advice for me?  I want to talk to her about hair and boobies and periods, and I would like to do it with out cracking up laughing or making her feel embarrassed about it.

Thanks for reading.

Oversharing

Hey, hey all!  Hope you had a good Labor Day weekend.

I'm really excited today, because I'm over at When Crazy Meets Exhaustion today!
I love Stephanie, she's funny and super cute too.  If those 2 reasons alone aren't enough to read her blog then I don't know what's wrong with you.

Anyway,  she has this series called Oversharing.  Basically, people tell her stories of something embarrassing that's happened to them and she publishes it.

If you know me, you know I love to laugh what's better than laughing at someone else?
Also, I tend to do a bit of over sharing right here anyway..  But this one, oh boy!

It's really embarrassing and something I will never forget ever!
I must warn you though, it does involve sex, blood and cooter talk.

If you think you're up to it, click on the link below and don't forget to leave a comment.

Do mean girls turn into mean women?

I don't know why I'm so naive to think that once we graduate high school that people automatically grow up.
I know I didn't grow up right away after I high school, but I wasn't a mean person.

It boggles my fucking mind to meet women, grown ass 30+ year old women who are down right mean and nasty!   They don't give a shit who's feelings they hurt.  These women also have children, daughters.

Is that how mean girls are made?  Do they see how their immature mother's act and think it's okay to treat people like shit on their shoe?

I've been thinking about why people act this way.  This is what I've come up with.

They were or are bullied or controlled by someone in their life and they take that out on others.

It makes them feel better about themselves if they are able to hurt others

OR

She has something stuck so far up her ass and she is in a constant bad mood.

What I'm wondering though is were these mean women mean girls?

Is this a trait that people just don't grow out of?

And......

Why is it really only girls and women?  I've seriously never met a man or boy who acts so hateful!
I don't understand why grown woman act so catty toward each other.

I have a daughter who is 9 years old and I make damn sure that she will not act like that to anyone!

She was bullied when she was in the 2nd grade and she was very upset about it, and I hope that she remembers how that felt if she even slightly considers acting foul toward anyone.

What will it take to shut up a mean girl or woman?

As adults we teach our children to ignore that behavior and the bully will eventually become bored and move on.  But, why?

Maybe, as adults we should show the mean woman what it's like to be in high school again.. take her to the end of the road and beat the ever loving shit out of her!

Nah, the bitch isn't worth jail.  CRAP!

Anyway, one of my closest friends was tormented today by a mean woman that used to be her friend.  Oh, and the lady is 45 years old!

So, not much else I can do except take it out on my keyboard.

I have one piece of advice to mean women;  take a good look in the mirror and fix whatever you don't like about yourself, whether it be inside or out, before you take your insecurities out on someone else!!

Do any of you know a mean girl who turned into a a mean woman?  I'd love to hear your stories!
