My soon to be 3rd grader skipped off the bus this afternoon telling me all about her last day of school.
I was beaten' by 3 little words as she spoke walking into the house: "I'M BORED MOMMY."
Are you serious, you just got off the bus 30 seconds ago, and you're bored!!
It hit me all at once, what my future will hold until late August. Those 3 words plus a few more.
"I have no one to play with."
"I'm hungry." (those words will come out of her mouth at least once an hour)
"I have nothing to do."
"Play with me Mommy."
I already feel like plucking out my eyes and throwing them into the yard so she will have something to do and something to play with.
On the other hand, I don't have to be up at 5:30 in the morning for a while!!
After going to Emilie's award ceremony at school yesterday, I realized that she is a average student, when she used to be an excellent student. Many things have happened this year that could have affected her attitude and her ability to care about school.
One, my mom who lived with us died, then I found out I was pregnant and then lost the baby 3 months into the pregnancy. I took both of those into consideration as I sat there waiting for my daughter to get any award. She ended up getting one award: "Citizenship Award." I am very proud of her, but in the back of my mind I felt disappointed.
When she got home yesterday, I congratulated her on her award, and began to tell her that will be working over the summer at least 3 times a week in the subjects that she struggled in.
Next year she will have to take the FCAT'S.. which I think is ridiculous, if any student fails that test, they will be held back. The school system seems to only care about the FCAT'S.
Since I can't buck the system, she will be ready. She will feel comfortable and confident when she enters the 3rd grade and sits down to take those dreadful tests.
So in conclusion, I will be very busy this summer with my daughter and I haven't even mentioned potty training my soon to be 3 year old.
Wish me luck I will definitely need it.

RAIN
What rain means to me.
First I believe it brings out my inner peace, it makes me feel relaxed.
The rain gives me permission to relax my mind and my body.
The rain also waters my vegetable garden, so I don't have to stand out in the Florida heat sweating my ass off to do it.
So thank you for that!
It's allows me to lay in my bed and read a great book.
The rain is like a new start, a clean slate.
Like how you feel after you take a shower from standing in the blasted heat watering your garden.
A fresh clean feeling.
It helps me think and clear my head.
That is what I feel when it's raining.

Unless I have to go out while it's raining...
Then void everything I said before, now I'm wet and pissed!!
Thanks for reading my blog

New dangers for Teenagers!
As parents we have to worry about so many things when it comes to our children.
Healthy home to live in, food to eat, school, clothes and so on.
There is something that is happening right in our own backyard.
Human trafficking, run away teenagers are in danger.
While you're talking to your teenager about the dangers of the world, now we have to include this in our conversation.
We thought that the birds and the bee’s talk is uncomfortable.
Talking to your kids about children being kidnapped everyday is not something we like to talk or think about.
Now there is something new.
Please lets all inform our children and teenagers about the dangers of this world.
Children out grow the “monsters under our beds”, but little do they know they still exist.
The “monsters” are everywhere!
Teaching our children early that rules in our homes are very important, we enforce those said rules to keep them safe and out of harms way. We as parents are not trying to “ruin their lives” or “cramp their style”. Remind them we love them and we don’t want anything bad to happen to them.
Share stories that you read in your local newspaper, let them watch the news with you in the morning. We were all teenagers once, and we all thought we were invincible. Our teenagers feel the same way, opening their eyes to what is going on in the world is our job as parents. Everyone would like their children to grow up in a perfect world where we can chase butterflies all day and slide down rainbows.
That just isn’t the case, we have to educate them.
Below is a link to an article from Ocala.com about human trafficking.
http://www.ocala.com/article/20120523/ARTICLES/120529877/1412?p=1&tc=pg
Let your teenager read this article and see what they think.
It may not be happening in your city or town you live in, but it is happening in someone’s backyard.
Why isn’t Everything ever Enough?
I am not an expert by any means on marriage or relationships.
I am in a relationship with my children’s father we have been together almost 11 years. I’ve said no to marriage for now, it just seems like a huge commitment at my age of 38... And I just don’t feel ready.
It’s no secret in my life that we are poor as shit right now. And we do what we have to do to get by and pay the bills.
Chris my “man” sold his Xbox last week for $200 so we can pay the electric bill. At least that’s why I thought he sold it. However, he had in his head he was going to take the money and buy a used PlayStation 3
Little back story for a moment, Chris had a top of the line PS3 about a year and a half ago, and he decided he was going to sell it and get the Xbox that he just had to have. After visiting a friend a couple weekends ago, her boyfriend has the PS3 and he realized he missed it. So that’s where the story begins.
Of course, he made the right decision and he paid the electric bill with our newfound money. Last night he was moping around the house, wouldn’t eat dinner, wouldn’t talk. He just laid there in his recliner. So after trying to find out what was wrong & why he was so upset, he yelled at me. Ok, guess he doesn’t want to talk, that’s ok I let him be.
He is constantly saying how “depressed” he is, and I ask him to tell me what he is so upset about. So he starts listing things:
1. I have no PS3
2. We have no extra money
3. I don’t get sex enough
4. We only have one car
So I say to him we haven’t had an extra car in about a year, and it’s my problem, he has a car. I’m the one stuck out here in the boonies with no car.
Next, we haven’t had extra money since Andrew was born, damn kids are expensive.
Sex, damn we had it 3 times last week!! No we can’t have it this week, but shit let me cramp in peace!
So that leaves the PS3.. And I know that’s all he’s really upset about.
He does work really hard during the week, so on the weekends, while I’m running around getting all the work done in the house. I let him sit there and stew in his recliner. And I’m happy to do, I never bug him about working around the house. Unless its something I can’t move or I find a big bug.So after his little poor me depressing list of what I don’t have I say to him:
Lets list what you do have!
1. A girlfriend who takes care of everything around the house
2. Two amazing children that love you dearly
3. A house to live in
4. The bills do get paid, late but paid
5. You get sex enough when you don’t bitch about not getting it
6. A job
7. Last but not least, I don’t nag you!
What the hell else do you want? A PS3!!!
My question is, are all men this materialistic? Or just mine?
I would love the best of everything, but these are hard times for everyone!
I’m completely happy with my family, that they are safe, sound and healthy that is my everything!
Do they base their happiness on what they own?

Jumping in with Both Feet
I'm currently sitting on my front porch smoking and watching the dog play in the yard.
Well I feel peaceful and excited at the same time.
Why you ask? Well I will tell you...
I believe I finally found my talent! I've always loved to write, short stories mostly. I dabbled in poetry some, but it was stuck in my head that everything needed to rhyme. And because of my lack of rhyming I also couldn't be a rapper!!
When I was younger I used to write all the time. But I never showed anyone my work.
I used it as an outlet, to escape from my life.
But what the hell did I know at 16 years old... well I thought I knew everything. But come to find out I knew nothing. With almost 38 years of experience under my belt, I finally have something to say.
With the encouragement of a fellow blogger and a friend I knew while I was a teenager, she told me to "jump in with both feet". So that's what I will do and that's what I am doing.
I've started an outline for a book I want to write.
I never liked to read as a teenager, actually I hated it. But in the last 3 years I've read all the time. But what really annoys me is that I can figure out the ending before I finish the end of the book.
So I've decided I'm going to write one.. yes fiction of course. And I'm so super excited about it. I can't wait to write it and then read it.
I just wanted to let everyone know who reads my blog what I'm up to. And I wanted to thank Aubree for the encouragement THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for reading my blog and listen to me babble.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend :)
